About the role
We are looking for engineers who want to help us build a sovereign European cloud platform from the ground up — creating a real alternative to global hyperscalers.
We are developing a complete PaaS stack based on Kubernetes and open source technologies — from serverless and managed databases to MLOps, monitoring, and observability.
By joining our team, you will become part of the group designing the foundations of the platform, not maintaining an already finished product. We work with full ownership, where architectural decisions made today will shape the product for years to come.
This is an opportunity for people who want to have a real influence on the future of European cloud infrastructure.
Role description
As a Platform DevOps Engineer, you will build and maintain the operational foundations of our PaaS platform — from CI/CD and GitOps to monitoring and incident response.
You will work closely with the Lead Platform DevOps Engineer across the full operational landscape while independently driving your own projects.
You will gain exposure to the complete operational stack of a modern cloud platform — this is a role where you can grow faster than almost anywhere else.
Your responsibilities
- Co-building and maintaining the observability stack: metrics, logs, and tracing.
- Supporting the Lead Platform DevOps Engineer in cluster operations, GitOps pipelines, and CI/CD processes.
- Independently leading engineering initiatives, such as:
- designing alerting strategies,
- building SLO/SLI frameworks,
- creating ephemeral test environments.
- Participating in on-call rotation and incident response.
- Capacity planning and performance monitoring.
- Automating platform operations and improving engineering workflows.
Requirements
- Practical experience as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, or Platform Engineer, with the ambition to grow towards a lead role.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes: deployments, operations, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with GitOps tools (ArgoCD/Flux) and observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, Loki/OpenSearch).
- Good knowledge of Go and Python.
- Willingness to learn and quickly take ownership of new areas — this role requires working across the full operational scope of a cloud platform.
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot) as a natural part of daily engineering work.
Nice to have
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines — integration testing, ephemeral environments, and release workflows.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools — Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
- Experience with etcd operations: backup, restore, and monitoring.
- Knowledge of distributed tracing technologies: OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Tempo.
- Experience defining and implementing SLO/SLI frameworks.
- Experience with incident response and post-mortem culture.
Why join CloudFerro?
- Build a cloud platform from scratch that supports the European space industry, climate research, and scientific communities.
- Join a newly formed, fully autonomous engineering team.
- Work with CNCF technologies in production — Kubernetes, Knative, Cilium, ArgoCD, Kubeflow — with opportunities to contribute to these projects.
- Have a real impact on architectural and product decisions.
- Work in an AI-native environment — Claude Code and similar tools are part of everyday engineering, not just experiments.
- Enjoy a high level of autonomy in organizing your work, with stable employment options and attractive compensation.
- Work fully remotely, with the option to work from our Warsaw office.
- Benefits: Private medical care, Multisport card, Life insurance, Language classes, Flexible remote work model.
